Eight miles north of San Francisco across the bay is a tiny bayside community named Sausalito, meaning “Little Grove of Willows.” This Mediterranean-style community that is often compared to the French Riviera. Sausalito has a wonderful selection of restaurants and shops lining its scenic marina.

Marin Headlands

The Marin Headlands is a hilly peninsula famous for their views of the Bay Area, Golden Gate Bridge, and the Pacific Ocean. The explosion of wildflowers in the spring and raptor (birds-of-prey) migration in the fall fill the headlands with year-round excitement. Try to spot other wildlife including: deer, mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, pelicans, harbor seals and grey whales.
